Orontium aquaticum, Golden Club, is a striking aquatic plant. Golden Club has bright yellow flower clusters (spadix) at the tips. Blooming in April-June Orontium aquaticum is one of the first plants to welcome spring. This tropical-looking plant is actually quite cold hardy and makes a lovely addition to constantly saturated or shallow water areas in ponds. Golden Club's spadix rises 1-2' above the water and leaves and rhizomatous roots provide useful shelter for tiny fish, frogs and other wildlife. Rare in PA (USDA).
