Rudbeckia fulgida var. deamii

Deam's Coneflower

The striking yellow flowers of Rudbeckia fulgida var. deamii are a welcome site to any garden or meadow. Also known as Black-eyed susan, or Deam's coneflower, this is an excellent native perennial for sunny to partially shady environments that have dry to moist, well-draining soils. Rudbeckia fulgia var. deamii is a dense branching perennial, that forms tidy clumps. Rudbeckia fulgia var. deamii differentiates itself from other forms due to its more pubescent stems, smaller flowerheads, large upper leaves, and disease resistance. Rudbeckia fulgida var. deamii grows to about 3 ft tall. A favored winter food source for overwintering songbirds and gold finches.
