Anemone canadensis

Canadian Anemone

Anemone canadensis, also known as Canadian anemone, is a vigorous perennial ground cover that spreads from underground rhizomes. White dainty flower petals ring a golden yellow center from late spring into the summer, attracting pollinators like native bees and butterflies. Deer and other browsing mammals dislike the taste of their leaves. Canadian anemone grows rapidly in full sun to dappled shade and should be given plenty of space, planting Anemone canadensis in the shade can slow down their rhizomatous root growth.
