Echinacea pallida

Pale Purple Cone Flower

Echinacea pallida, also known as Pale Purple Coneflower, is a mid-western native perennial with slender, strap like leaves. Echinacea pallida grows 2-3' tall, with slender, unbranched stems topped with delicate pale pink flowers. Pale Purple Coneflower blooms from June through September, with flowers that have a dark orange to purple cone ringed by droopy, elongated purple to pink petals. Echinacea pallida grow best in well-drained soils, with full sun. Their spiky flower cones provide an interesting late-season/winter interest and provide many bird species with a winter food source.
